May Genuine Spiritual Intuitive Perception At Last Break Through the Walls of Earthly Expedient Intellectuality in Every Man

The world of today is for the real spiritual foundation of man only a long-lasting and unworthy prison

This is due to the manner of life which prevails here

By its setting, almost everything in the life of men on earth is far removed from true spiritual freedom

Even though all this is visible to a more attentive eye with a somewhat more wakeful observation, most people are not aware of this state

This grave curtailment of spiritual freedom has already lasted for millennia

In spite of everything, that is, in spite of its clarity and obviousness, this unworthy spiritual unfreedom in everyday action is perceived only by a few people, who are able to sense it thanks to their striving now and then to rise higher above the ponderousness of the condition of the majority

For this more receptive part of mankind, however, it is unfortunately mostly only the cause of a desperate struggle without much result

From the spiritual point of view it is terrible to know that every man, through the lasting state of the intellectual encirclement of the earthly world, is in some form restricted in the manifestations of his inner spiritual volition

Without our being aware of it, in all our plans and aims of life here on earth we are always wholly subject to the hitherto intellectual domination of the material world

We do not live as our spirit would wish in its intuitive perceiving, but we live according to the adopted rules of the world here

The darkness could wish for nothing better than that men, at every repeated incarnation for the experiencing of life on earth, should always entangle themselves anew in the intellectual setting of their thinking, and this so strongly that of their own accord they finally suppose that it cannot even be done otherwise

However varied, then, the historical epochs of life which have hitherto reigned on earth, in them men always sank deep into matter during their earthly existence, for at their birth they also took over all the forms which at the given time were valid as the determining conditions for the kind of thinking and acting in the given society

In the end it is therefore wholly the same whether tyrants rule on earth or more enlightened people

It is the same whether there were pharaohs, kings and emperors here, whether slavery reigned here, or the dark rule of the Middle Ages spread itself, or also when in the end the materialistic scientific world, so celebrated by so many people, triumphs over everything in present times

Deeply imprinted forms of social thinking always dominated the human spirit with the expediency of their time whenever it came to a new incarnation on earth

Whenever the human spirit entered upon the earth, it took on the set course of life, only to submit to it completely

The seducer and tempter of men, as the promoter of intellectual material conceit in men, could not have wished for a better result

Through his origin as an archangel he was acquainted with the Laws of God working in Creation, and therefore knew well by what effect it was possible to intervene through intellectuality in the development of mankind, so as thereby to lead all astray from the path, indeed so as finally to halt completely the cycle of the humanly spiritual species in its already partly conscious development

He knew well that if mankind here on earth, in its majority, succumbed to the domination of the conceited intellect, which always wants to fetter everything and subject it to its material influence, then this intellect, through the conditions created by its own work, would of itself encircle all life and would thus become the jailer of all that is spiritual in man

It therefore sufficed him at the beginning, through a small shifting of the paths, instead of the loving strengthening of the spiritual inner being, to stir up temptingly in men the wish to proceed along the line of development of the intellect

The intellect seized upon the opportunity afforded to it, and from the original servant it became the ruler

And indeed, through its setting, the earth became for the billions of spirits coming to incarnation an ever more and oppressively unfreeing place of the working of the intellect for everything, thus also for that which longs for the pure freedom and the soaring of the spirit

Let us look at the picture of today's world

Although it may not appear so, a great part of the people on earth strive, in their sense of understanding, to live a good life

At least they suppose that this is what they want

It may be said that fundamentally there are always at least half of the people here who in a certain sense wish good for this earth

To this striving for a good life, however, a great number of seemingly necessary things for asserting oneself in life here are immediately attached by these very people, and this so strongly that in the end all those good wishes, in the present setting of thinking, again serve only the intellect, and thereby… unfortunately, it necessarily succumbs in a threatening manner to the snares of the fallen archangel, who diverts the precious inner forces of men to secondary things

Just let us look how many seemingly inconspicuous things there are here which are, however, a well-masked application of intellectual predominance

The intellect intervenes in everything, and with its inventiveness it makes out of what were originally secondary things in the life of men that which is more important, or even most important, with which all then occupy themselves

After all, so many necessary things must be arranged every day, without which life seems impossible

After all, there are all those necessities of daily need, developed into endless dimensions, there are all the duties, interests and pastimes driven up to the very highest degrees of demand

However cleverly this is defended with the designation of a so-called high-quality, fulfilling life of man, it is nothing other than a chase after material forms

That men in their inner lukewarmness are not aware of this changes nothing about it

Everyone is to some degree swallowed up in it, and everyone is therefore also in some part fettered in his real spiritual freedom

We can even speak of the present time as the culminating point of the paralysis of mankind in its spiritual development

How far all this reaches, we as earthmen are for the most part not aware of at all, for we move in it from birth

Yet at the same time it is very easy to understand

It suffices for this to occupy oneself with it more earnestly

There are always two basic quantities here

The first quantity is the inner being of the man who wills the good, which longs to soar up to a pure life and to ideal values

The spirit in the inner being of many a man, left to itself, would strive with its finer radiation only for the good, it would long to form with joy and intuitive creativity the most fulfilled and splendid forms of human existence, which vibrate in the sublime virtues of life

Opposed to this radiation of the spirit, however, there stands as an obstacle, lying in the intensive activity of the frontal brain, the working intellect, which was nevertheless always meant to be primarily only an instrument for the realisation of spiritual volition

The overgrown intellect with its arguments of expediency, however, exercises oppression against all that is needed by the man who longs for ideals

It is thus directly attacking the fervent intuitive radiation of the inner being, which from its point of view it, as the material leader in man, considers unfitting because of its own transience of earthliness

Through its activity running counter to the intuitive perceiving of the spirit, a sharp boundary has been shaped over whole generations, deciding what is expedient on earth, that is, what is right and desirable from the standpoint of earthly rationality, and what, from the point of view of the intellect, dangerously departs from this through its inner intuitive perceiving that longs for the ideal

The intellect in itself, if it is permitted to rule, will never fully grasp the ideals of the spirit, for they are too sublime for it, and thereby from its point of view only with difficulty usable for the earthly world

It has gone so far that for a long time already the intellect has considered spiritual ideals in advance as dangerous to itself, as threatening its own laboriously built earthly way

It therefore looks upon spiritual volition, which proceeds from the principle of nobility of character and good-naturedness, as a self-destroying way for the asserting of man on earth

It is the confirmation of the words of the works of poets of old, that the head will never understand the heart

The head here is precisely the intellect, and the heart is the spirit

The intellect by its nature is always afraid of the predominance of the spirit

And in its nature it also understands nothing of that which surpasses the expediency formed by it through a pure striving for higher ideals, such as for example joyful giving without the demand of compensation, or a loving surrender to sublime aims

In reality it also fears these ideals, indeed it has an outright panic terror of them, because through their different kind of vibrations they escape from the sphere of its dominion

The boundary of the world of thought, heavily fortified by the intellect, therefore has not permitted mankind as a whole for millennia – just as also today – to rise higher to a manner of life which gives precedence to more intuitive perceiving in all action

Without men being aware of it, they all work in equal part through their participation at the unfreeing of the spirit

That is, not only the rulers of states, politicians, soldiers, judges, scientists, professors, teachers or journalists, but after all also all other people who voluntarily, on their own account, in their daily material activities, also take part in deepening the ruts of the intellect through their earthbound, expedient manner of life

This manner is handed down from parents to children like the curse of hereditary sin

That which is handed down by many as the valuable experiences of parents to children is in reality predominantly only an intellectual poison for the free spirit

No one stands in it spiritually free, wholly and securely, in such a way as to be able to be taken as a lasting example for other people

Therein lies that curse of human failure, in which the intellect has for the most part prevailed over the intuitive perceiving of the spirit

All, as those who by their manner of thinking and of life are in general worthy of the designation of rational people, in obedience to their intellectual domination over the spirit, in reality guard with the greatest sharpness the boundary over which, under the existing conditions, the spirit can never rise, so as to break loose from what is earthbound and to rise higher

Thereby they serve the principle of Lucifer without suspecting anything of it

On earth this is not the result of the plans and agreements of secret societies and organisations, nor of multinational trading companies or of governments and supranational groupings, as is generally held, but every single man has his share in it through his own attitude to life

The enemy is not in the first place somewhere in the outer world, but is constantly present in one's own home, indeed in the head of man

It dwells everywhere where in the decisions the intellect prevails over the spirit

From this there then unfold all the paths, which are necessarily shaped forms reflecting within themselves the weakness of the spirit in the face of the domination of the intellect

In the long-weakened manifestation of the spirit, many people no longer succeed in asserting their inner intuitive vibrations across this boundary of the intellect, because the intellect forces them again and again into the usual forms

The commonplace and an inert rationality in action surround all life

However much the inner being strives to cross these boundaries, after a certain struggle all that is finer and more intuitive always in the end gets caught again in the intricacy of the loops of the intellect

For the victory of the spirit there is still lacking here that necessary childlike simple and at the same time courageous straightforwardness

There is lacking the living power for action truly filled with intuitive perception, which crosses the boundaries set by the intellect

Only those people who truly love someone close to them with their pure intuitive perceptions are able to recognise this, and also partly, for a certain time, to fight against it, by striving to give to the beloved person the most fervent and the noblest of themselves, regardless of the rules of the outer intellectual world

The power of their wish for the best for the beloved person gives them the ability to break through, for a time, the narrow boundaries of so-called “sober intellectuality”

It is precisely these people who also swiftly and sharply recognise the narrow boundaries of the intellect wherever fervent intuitive perception would like to bring down happiness from heaven to this earth, in spite of the set earthly conditions

In the striving for fervent giving they become aware at that time how the outer world is gripped by the heavy walls of expedient intellectuality, which goes against the purest wishes to raise the world up to something better

These purely and fervently loving people then struggle with the uncomprehending ponderousness and lowness of the surrounding world, which through its millions of vassals always readily sets itself up as an obstacle against all that in joyful song would like to make the world better for all other people

In its foundation it has remained ever the same for millennia

Only the outer forms of the conditions change according to the demands of social settings

Just let us look, there always reigns here some social setting which demands the observance of conditions that are regarded as generally valid

Whether it is here or perhaps at the entirely opposite end of the world, there are always set conditions which keep all that is spiritually more valuable under intellectual domination

Often this is enforced by earthly laws which, moreover, are as a rule formed by those people whom we can call, in their ponderous intellectuality, intuitively deformed cripples

Therefore for a long time already it has appeared like the proverbial fight against windmills

Even the disciples of Jesus had to fight with this whenever their Master, in His wandering upon earth, did something which went against the established order of that time

Even with those closest to Jesus the freeing of their perceiving from the intellect succeeded only with difficulty and toil

Often in this they painfully disappointed again and again the Son of God, who saw clearly how strongly the spirit is gripped by the intellect in the earthly understanding of the world

With kindliness He sought to help them in this, and patiently bore many manifestations in which the intellect prevailed over intuitive perception

At the same time He rejoiced when He was permitted to see that this or that one of the listeners succeeded in freeing the spiritual intuitive perception and in placing it before material thinking

The human inner being needs to become aflame with true loving-kindness towards its neighbours and towards the whole world, so as to be able to fly upwards to the Light, to God

Many works originating from the pure activity of artists often capture this hostile relationship between the intuitive perceiving that springs from love of one's neighbour and intellectuality, which shows how painful is the hostile attitude of the outer world towards the true life in the human inner being

The stories of great loving relationships between people, which come up against the contradictions of their surroundings, are often an example of terrible deeds on the part of intellectual people who at the same time possess greater earthly power

Precisely in their pure love, deeply enamoured people who, led by their intuitive perceptions, long to see things more plainly and simply, are the closest to suddenly beholding the outer world as distant and thereby hostile to all that uplifts spiritually

In these people filled with sublime ideals there is also found a part of the needed power, at least for a temporary counterbalancing of the ponderousness of the intellect, against which they stand at the given moment with the courage of a pure longing for an ideal world

But the dense material power of the outer world, through its inertia, goes expediently against them too

And so they too after a certain time grow weary and sink into the same gloom that surrounds most people on earth

The words of thousands of poems give deep and fervent testimony of the binding of the spirit by the intellect, and yet it remains only a hollow echo for mankind made unfree by this matter, which, bound within itself by the materiality of its own intellect, is not capable of breaking out of this prison

Thus it has lasted for millennia already, and men have not yet been able to change anything about it

It rules the earth like a disease paralysing the spirit, for which there is no cure

But here there holds good the earnest and at the same time joyful call of a voice from the heights “All you who are alive and open in your inner being, hold out, for this so long time of the unworthy imprisonment of the spirit and of intuitive perception has now drawn towards its end”

Therefore it is also most necessary for everyone to stand up within himself against the mentioned baneful influence of the intellect in the inner being

The spirit is at last, once and for all, to step forth convincingly, so as to free itself from the domination of the ponderous intellect

An epoch-making time of spiritual awakening is dawning, which brings the conditions for great changes in all human activity

The perceiving of the spirit is at last to be that which determines the ways forward in all dealings between men

Unfortunately it seems that mankind has actually forgotten what the perceiving of the spirit is and how it manifests itself

Thus many a one no longer even knows how intuitive perception manifests itself and how it is to be used by man in everyday life

The great stirring of the sublime intuitive perception of the human spirit is so deeply buried that under the deposit of intellectual rationality men no longer even recognise it

Many efforts of more courageous people, however well meant, end by describing an arc which in the end leads even them back again only into the claws of gripping intellectuality

So it is also in all religious directions and in all humanly progressive movements which at the beginning of their paths strive for higher aims

Through all the centuries it came in the end to the same place where everything else is too – into the arms of intellectual expediency, which in the struggle with the other currents of opinion defends itself with the necessity of earthly survival

Often this leads many a man who becomes aware of it in the moments of his clearer sensing even to despair

The worn ruts of the intellect, used for thousands of years and applied in almost always the same way with the emphasis on earthly intellectual expediency in all action, seem too deep

It appears as though mankind could never again climb out of these deep furrows

Again and again the intellect lies in wait in everything, well armed with proofs for the assertion that man today on earth cannot go the way of intuitive perception, that it is foolish idealism

The superior force of the intellect thus appears invincible for every endeavour of the spirit … but nevertheless a great resolve lives in the inner being of many people

It hovers as a longed-for ideal image before the eyes of those who are inwardly awakening

It murmurs like a living spring of pure humanity, in which true compassion, pure love and forgiveness rule in every moment foremost before all else, followed by wisdom and noble greatness in all action

And this ideal image can be attained, it can be made a present life for everyone

The starting point for finding the way to an intuitive life is the acquiring of a kindly fullness of peace in the thoughts and in the perceiving of ease in the flowing of things, which in any case always come through the weaving of the animistic servants

The hitherto pressure of thought towards controlling everything in life is to be transformed through the penetration of quiveringly bright threads woven out of pure intuitive volition

Everything rests in the living attunement of the good that springs forth from the human inner being

Everything in the life of men is in reality determined by their own inner being

Everything happens exactly in the measure in which the inner being of man, above all, flies joyfully towards the Light and to God

In this inner attunement towards the Light everyone can be sure that he is led, wholly of itself, step by step upwards to liberation and enlightenment

This walking upwards is also to be accompanied by calmness and fullness of peace in the actions of men

The fullness of peace forms the way for everyone who strives for the change within himself towards the awakening of his spiritual abilities

At the same time, however, it is also the ardently blazing enthusiasm strengthening all to courageous deeds wherever harmony has not been attained in the whole being of all life

Of course this striving to find harmony is also to take place in a creative manner towards all other people and creatures

For this, then, even that inventiveness of the intellect in action can be used, if the aim is the sublime volition of harmony

The paths of the intellect can always be pure, and are always to be so, through the inner intuitive leadership of the spirit

In the end the intellect will adapt itself to the power of intuitive perceiving in man, and will thereby return to its original place of service to the human spirit

It is therefore not a battle against the intellect as such in its activity, but against its overgrown domination, with which it has seized mankind

In the end the fullness of peace will triumph over everything

The fullness of peace is not a naive surrender to the rule of cunning intellectualists, but on the contrary it is the highest movement in living investigation, when at the same time everything is filled with lasting peace

Peace in man opens the ability to recognise wisdom of a higher kind

There is here, therefore, the fullness of peace, calm, and at the same time the highest inner intuitive liveliness in the investigation of all that is brought to man, so that lasting wisdom may be formed out of it

These three pillars – FULLNESS OF PEACE, LIVELINESS and WISDOM – therefore lift the spirit ever higher to the Light, to God

Living wisdom full of peace is that which is to come alive in man to the highest degree of life

That is the way leading out of the present depths of the straying of mankind

It is also that important way leading out of the now reigning state of material domination on earth

Whoever holds to this way will with certainty gradually free himself from all burdens and fetters which perhaps still hold him hitherto in the circle of experienced hopelessness

Walking on this way will never disappoint him, for anchored in it is the age-old help of God for the human spirit on its pilgrimage through the Subsequent Creation

The Aglami now stand with increased help at the side of all people who courageously walk against the set domination of intellectuality

It is they who support every earnest volition for the good with their hands invisible to earthly eyes, in which there may be woven all that is needed, also for one's own outer success in the earthly world

And just as the Aglami, so now also the Alphar work with increased power for all intuitively open people, weaving for their paths, with the most gracious kindness of the Light, all that helps in the heightened streaming towards the laying aside of all past threads

Activity of the highest kind is now going on around men, and many are beginning to sense and to recognise that such things are happening for them as have never been here before

Through all this the animistic makes known its more visible inclination towards the acceleration of the happenings in the liberation of this earth from the claws of the darkness

It goes forward ever more strongly and swiftly, and will soon bring into the life of every man many irruptions of new, unexpected forces, which will lead to the necessary decision whether man truly longs for the Light and its values, or not

The intellectual evasion of the past is at an end

All the cunning of the people who dominate others in their unfreeing and in mental harassment stands at its final stage before the fall into the abyss of damnation

Whoever is involved in this, may he still at the last moment awaken and turn his hitherto direction towards a better manner of life

Those who will not hear this, or will not renounce it in recognition of their conduct unworthy of the spirit, will succumb to a higher power which already now surrounds them through the animistic weaving

In their intellectuality they will be overcome by their own power in the measure in which the threads of their volition return

Before many a man there emerges a great struggle for the liberation of the spiritual inner being

This struggle, however, is a help which one day will be generally recognised by men as a freedom-bringing happening of the Light over this place in the universe

Men will then with warmth in their words give thanks to the Light and to the Creator for the help through which it was made possible for them to discover again the beauty and greatness of their own spiritual inner being
